Common social image sizes

Preset dimensions cover the most common posts, covers, banners, and thumbnails.

1080×1920 pixels (vertical 9:16 ratio). Same dimensions work for Instagram Stories.

1080×1080 pixels for square posts, or 1080×1350 pixels (4:5 portrait) for the largest in-feed display.

1080×1920 pixels is a common vertical 9:16 starting point. TikTok can crop previews differently across surfaces, so keep important text and subjects away from the edges.

YouTube recommends a 1280×720 custom thumbnail with a 16:9 ratio and a file under 2 MB. Not every existing video exposes a 1280×720 public source thumbnail, so downloaders must use the qualities YouTube makes available.

2560×1440 pixels. The center safe area visible on all devices is 1546×423 pixels — keep text and logos inside that.

1500×500 pixels (3:1 ratio). The bottom area gets covered by the profile photo on mobile, so place key elements toward the top.

1584×396 pixels for personal profile banners; 1128×191 pixels for company page banners.
